Latest Updates from Our Project:

Just 48 hours to go! We’re in the home stretch now, folks.
over 3 years ago – Thu, Jul 22, 2021 at 01:24:07 PM

To say thank you for all of your support so far, we decided to go on an office scavenger hunt to find a really cool prize. After taking down a few ferocious dust bunnies and adding spring cleaning to our post-Kickstarter to-do list, we found just the thing. May we present...The MEGA Werewolf?

Those of you who backed our Counterspell Miniatures campaign will recognize the fierce mini on the right. The one on the left? Well, sometimes production hiccups result in the coolest souvenirs. This awesome accident came about early in production due to a scaling issue that left it about 2.5x bigger than it should have been.

To enter to win this one-of-a-kind miniature, all you have to do is leave a comment on the main thread that shares a favorite gaming memory before the campaign ends this Saturday. Bonus points if your story somehow includes Dungeon Craft or Deck of Stories!

P.S. - In case you missed the news over on social media, here’s a list of winners from our signed art print giveaway: Keith Vorderbruggen & Gissela GB (Facebook), Matthew_Worley & RyanSSmith (Twitter) and DungeonScribe & TheJakeMielke (Instagram). Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to all who participated!

Which Book Is Right For You? Jungles of Dread vs. Fallen Kingdom

Which Book Is Right For You? Jungles of Dread vs. Fallen Kingdom

The answer is both, but humor us for a few minutes as we share a breakdown of what each book does best!

Even with the full-book flip throughs available on our campaign page, we know that it can be a little tricky to figure out the difference between Jungles of Dread and Fallen Kingdom. With over 1800 pieces of jungle-centric terrain, monsters, and NPCs between them, you might think it’s redundant to add both to your collection. Here’s why that’s not the case!

Jungles of Dread

Given its name, you’ve probably already guessed that this set focuses on the wonders and dangers hidden in these overgrown fantasy jungles. Fountains of gold? Check. Quicksand? Check. Zombie dinosaurs? Check.

This set also features some of our favorite encampments—including reclaimed shipwrecks, dragon skulls, a smugglers’ paradise hidden beneath the stump of an ancient tree.

Between jungle expeditions, your players can resupply and spend their hard-earned treasure in the colorful coastal markets. These luxurious destinations can act as a campaign oasis or as a hub for political intrigue between combat-heavy plotlines.

After downing a few fruity cocktails at the tavern, they’ll be amazed at how the terrors of the jungle have become integrated into society just beyond the tree line. Dinosaur riders patrol the streets, and caravans move from city to city on the backs of giant, long-necked behemoths.

Fallen Kingdom

Jungles this ancient are bound to have their secrets—from the remnants of ancient civilizations to modern-day necromantic cults. In Fallen Kingdom, your players can explore overgrown ruins both on the surface and in subterranean, trap-filled dungeons.

Of course, that much magic was bound to cause an issue or two. Fallen Kingdom also features jungle oddities like overgrown monsters, living plants, and waterways turned to liquid gold. Where are Tulio and Miguel when you need them, right?

This is also the book for you if you’re in the mood for some classic action-movie shenanigans of the archaeological variety. (Monkey brains not included)

When combined, these two sets cover almost everything you’ll need to run Wizards of the Coasts: "Tomb of Annihilation” adventure. We hope you’ve enjoyed this tour of Dungeon Craft: Series 3. Your support so far has been greatly appreciated, and we couldn’t have gotten this far without your help. We’re less than $5k away from our next stretch goal unlock, so let’s make these final days count!

Tide Breaker RPG: Cinematic Tabletop RPG system

Tide Breaker is a Tabletop RPG system  that lets you step into the role of hyper-competent heroes and explore  worlds that your group creates together from the ground up. Customize  your abilities, get involved in clandestine plots, and engage in epic  battles straight out of your favorite action movie against numbers of  enemies that would overwhelm almost anyone! Of course, it’d just be a  warm-up for you. At least until the Big Bad shows up.

Library Unlocked & A Free Adventure Spotlight!
over 3 years ago – Wed, Jul 21, 2021 at 06:32:59 PM

We did it! The Multi-Level Library is officially unlocked. How will you put it to use? With just three days to go, now’s the time to spread the word as we set our sights on the next stretch goal — a trek to Town Hall!

We’ve been so busy celebrating unlocked stretch goals that we thought a few of you may have missed the original campaign freebie—our Den of the Serpent King 5E Adventure! There are two (okay, three) great reasons to download your copy right here and now.

  1. It’ll give your group a quick introduction to the obviously epic jungle campaign you’re planning with Jungles of Dread & Fallen Kingdom
  2. It uses all of the key products from this campaign, so you can easily see how each item in your pledge will interact with the others for an immersive game experience.
  3. Did we mention the free thing?

The module includes options for parties at level 3, 7, and 11. We’ve included three plot hooks to get your party on the jungle path, but you’ll find plenty of other options with a quick flip of the cards in your Deck of Stories: Jungle Deck.

Once your group arrives in Fort Haven, you’ll find detailed information on landmarks throughout the city, as well as NPC introductions. Two of the most important characters they’ll meet are also available in our new collection of Counterspell miniatures — Thema Okiro and Challa.

This is also where you’ll find ideas for fun side quests like tracking down missing tiny dinosaurs in exchange for conveniently unlabelled potion bottles.

Now, since this is a Dungeon Craft campaign, you knew we’d get to combat eventually. Both scenarios include a visual layout of tiles, along with a written key to help you gather up pieces before you head out for game night.

Speaking of combat, your players will have the joyous opportunity to meet a few new faces in the monster category. Along with goblin chiefs and ankylosauruses (ankylosauren? ankylosauri?), they’ll be getting up close and personal with the rest of our new minis. That includes the Borra Croc, Sav Althul himself, and the mega-mini Jungle Titan!

If they manage to survive that far, there’s also a fun pile of treasure that involves two brand-new magic items. Recognize this?

Yep, that’s Thema’s signature weapon!

We appreciate all of your support so far, and we wanted to show our gratitude with a celebratory giveaway. Check back here tomorrow to find out how you can enter to win a one-of-a-kind Counterspell mini!

Cool Off With Some Snow Pack Sneak Peeks! 🧊
over 3 years ago – Wed, Jul 21, 2021 at 03:51:57 PM

Alright, who’s ready to kick off the final stretch?

With just about four days left in this campaign, we thought we’d take a break from the tropics and head into tundra territory. Before you scroll down, please note that today’s share is extremely behind-the-scenes content, and not finished artwork. These are what we call in the terrain biz “bluelines”. Super fitting for a snow pack, right?

Here's a spotlight of just a handful of the terrain from the snow pack!

Get A First Look At Furnishings! (+Add-On Summary)
over 3 years ago – Sun, Jul 18, 2021 at 05:55:05 PM

Among all of our other add-ons, the Empty Building & Furnishings Pack has been the one we’ve received the most comments about. We’re pretty excited about it too! Instead of being stuck with pre-generated rooms, you’ll be able to customize everything to your unique campaign needs with various sizes of empty buildings and a pretty large collection of never-before-released furniture. Ready to get your interior design on? Take a scroll through today’s art haul.

We’ve also seen some confusion over which add-ons and previous 1985 Games’ products will be available over in the Backerkit. So, we decided to put together a quick graphic to help you easily plan out your pledge.

Is there anything you’d like to see us cover more in next week’s updates? If so, just leave a request down below. Have a great weekend!
